This ribbon alloy is 1.00 Wide x .010 Thick . 50 % trimet This BAg-24 brazing filter metal is low-melting, free-flowing, cadmium-free. In this sandwiched material there is a layer of copper between two layers of braze alloy. This is also commonly called trimetal or plymetal. Typically this is in a 1:2:1 ratio. Sandwich material is always a ribbon. The silver solder we use is an alloy which means it is a combination of metals each of which adds something unique to the mixture so that the combination works much better than any of the individual metals. This silver solder is the combination of silver, copper and nickel that provides the strengths well as Nickel which improves the flow of the alloy.
In order to obtain a good braze joint with a thickness of 0.003” to 0.005” and with good fillets the following sizes are generally a good place to start.
