Braze alloy (silver solder, High temp silver solder) - 56% Silver, an industry standard, Cadmium free. Priced per troy ounce. Braze Alloy Ribbon is .5" wide x .005" thick.
All our braze alloy is ANSI and AWS approved. We can supply certification analyzed to parts per million for a small fee upon request. This braze alloy contains 56% silver and the rest is copper and zinc. Ribbon is 0.005" thick and 0.500" (one-half inch) wide. One ounce is over 6 feet long. It is very nickel compatible. It will alloy with the nickel to create a very strong joint. It is also recommended for joining steel, stainless steel, copper, copper alloys, nickel, nickel alloys and precious metals. Works great for gunsmithing to join sights or ramps to rifles because of the braze alloys stainless steel color matching qualities and great flow and wettability.
The braze alloy starts melting at 1150 F and your liquidus point (full melt) 1205 F. You should be getting it about 50° hotter than that to provide enough energy to complete the phase transformation. (Additional time at 1205F will also work but is typically harder to measure.)
