Rpm x no. of teeth  chip load = Feed Speed

Known:

No. Of Teeth -------  60

RPM ---------------  3600

Chip Load ----------  0.005”

Example:


3600 x 60   =    216,000   =  18,000 x .005   =  90

     12                     12 

Feed Speed is 90 feet per minute

Feeds speed (fpm)   x   12   = no. of teeth
Rpm x chip load     

 

 

Known:

Feed Speed -----------   90 fpm

RPM ------------------- 3600

Chip Load ------------    0.005”

 Example: 

90 x 12   = 1080 = 60
3600 x 0.005   18    

 

 

Number of Teeth is 60
