Clausing vertical mills do great work, but with the limitations of a maximum M2 collet size of 1/2" dia., I miss out on a lot of the available tooling using carbide insert cutting technology. a minimum mill shank size of 3/4" dia does. The CHUC11 should help me in this regard.
I have spun the adapter up to 3250 rpm. It runs true and is well balanced. It should do the job. Now to experiment with some 3/4 shank tooling. I plan to try some 2"dia insert mills and also a couple of carbide toothed annular cutters. Maybe I can say goodbye to all my expensive 2" dia, ten flute, HSS shell mills I use for facing PEEK. Q: I have a craftsman drill press with 1/2" chuck and am looking at your CHUC11. Is this the right way to go on being able to use annular cutters? If so what annular cutters can i use ? Does it come with the center pin and spring? Any suggestions to accomplish this will be helpful . I'm not a business just a gearhead ! Thank you.

Q: I have a 1977 Blackhawk DP515-12S 5/8" drill press, will the Unibor CHUC11 allow me to use annular cutters in my drill press?

A: as long as the specs on the CHUC11 match the required specs on the Blackhawk without interference, yes. Sadly the market for the different machines is growing and we cannot keep up with the changes being made with every machine so all our parts are structured to be universal to fit most machines.
